WHAT ACOUSTIC FABRIC DO I NEED?

ACOUSTIC SOLUTIONS: ACOUSTIC INSULATION AND CONDITIONING

In general, we can divide the problems generated by excessive noise into two large groups:

, Acoustic Zone, Tejidos Ignífugos

Against noise from outside: acoustic insulation.

Problems due to noise from outside: noise reaches the premises from a noise source outside the premises – another premises, the street, traffic, etc.

, Acoustic Zone, Tejidos Ignífugos

Against indoor noise: acoustic conditioning.

Problems due to noise generated in the premises itself: During normal activity, reverberation is generated inside the premises, creating a sensation of noise that makes it difficult to hold conversations – common in restaurants, studios, minimalist premises, etc.

At TEXTIL BATAVIA we have ACOUSTIC FABRICS for both sound insulation and acoustic conditioning solutions. All our products have been tested by specialized laboratories to certify their acoustic quality.

Learn more about acoustic insulation and conditioning

At TEXTIL BATAVIA, we have a wide range of acoustic fabrics that allow us to adapt to any need. All of our fabrics have been tested according to international standards to thoroughly understand their acoustic properties and thus guarantee their performance. To choose the fabric that best suits your needs, the first step is to identify your circumstances. If the room or enclosure where you want to place the fabric presents any of these problems: – Noise produced by the movement of neighbors (children running, high heels, etc.) – Noise from the premises located on the ground floor of the building (bars, pubs, cafes, etc.) – Noise from a bar terrace – Noise from traffic – Noise from a mechanical garage door – Noise from the building’s elevator – Noise from a neighbor’s television – then you need a fabric suitable for soundproofing. To learn more about soundproofing, consult our frequently asked questions about soundproofing. However, if the room or space where you want to place the fabric produces noise even with the slightest activity, whether listening to music, watching television, playing a musical instrument, or even having conversations, then you need a fabric designed for acoustic insulation. To learn more about acoustic insulation, check out our acoustic insulation FAQs. However, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us, and any of our acoustic engineers will be happy to assist you.

Both the graph on the left and the tables on the right provide information on the curtain’s absorption coefficient.

The absorption coefficient is a dimensionless parameter with a value between 0 and 1 and indicates the percentage of sound absorption a material possesses. Thus, a value of 0.6 for the absorption coefficient indicates that, overall, the material absorbs 60% of the sound waves that strike its surface.
