After the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the Bétera City Council wished to recognize and thank all volunteers, institutions, groups, and companies for their collaboration, dedication, and commitment to the people of Bétera.
Last Friday, May 7, 2022, the Appreciation and Recognition ceremony took place at the auditorium of the town’s House of Culture. During the event, the 8 p.m. applause—so symbolic during the state of alarm—was revived, recognizing the work of those who were “on the front line” and did their “bit” to make everything better.
During the event, a large part of the Municipal Corporation took part, along with local residents, representatives of different associations and entities, as well as representatives of the local festival scene. Next, the municipal councillor for health, Carlos Abad, dedicated a few words together with Mayor Elia Verdevío. To conclude the tribute, a video was shown in recognition of those moments of work and solidarity. The event ended with a minute of silence in memory of all the people who passed away during this period.
The municipal councillor for Trade and Industry, Joaquín Gómez Martínez, presented the recognition to ORDUÑA 1755 SL for its donation and supply of sanitary fabrics, as well as for its work making face masks when they were most needed. The recognition was received by Gonzalo Julián Orduña, the company’s managing director.
