BdB Group Donates Fabric for 75,000 + 25,000 Masks

Following the article published on 4-1-20 in the newspaper LAS PROVINCIAS (https://www.lasprovincias.es/economia/queremos-colaborar-20200401001928-ntvo.html#vca=fixed-btn&vso=rrss&vmc=wh&vli=Econom%C3%ADa), the Valencian company specializing in construction materials “BdB Group,” based in Náquera (Valencia), contacted us.

BdB has more than 270 points of sale throughout Spain, to materialize a donation that will allow the distribution of 75,000 masks nationwide to those groups that need them most.

A great gesture of SOLIDARITY that will make it possible to provide materials, fabrics, elastics, and sewing thread to organized groups of volunteers who are making them at home.

It should be noted that solidarity taxi drivers, the Civil Guard, and Local Police are collaborating in the necessary logistics. We hope to soon receive support from a transport agency for interprovincial shipments.

UPDATE 4-18-2020

BdB has made a new donation so that “Mascarillas de Madrid” can make 25,000 more masks.

Aware that their support is of vital importance for people with greater exposure to the virus, they have listened to the request of the solidarity network that makes them and have increased their financial donation to be able to supply it with more fabric together with the company ORDUÑA 1755 SL.

This additional effort focuses on the group of more than 200 volunteers from “Mascarillas de Madrid” who, under the motto “Protect those who protect us,” make and distribute this personal protective element where people with high exposure to the virus need it. Volunteers who, altruistically, receive the necessary material and, from their homes and with a sewing machine, manufacture masks that they donate to healthcare workers, police, senior centers, and different organizations that help vulnerable people.

José Durá, General Director of BdB, assures “being completely committed along with numerous entrepreneurs to combat this virus. Our role in society is now more relevant, if possible, because, despite suffering the impacts of the crisis, we are one more social agent, which in other circumstances enables the economic development of our region, and now contributes with its resources to protect society.”

BdB, for its part, is distributing a large number of masks in different areas of Spain, taking advantage of its store structure. They have already made deliveries to the Civil Guard of Zaragoza, Valencia, and Madrid, to the Mossos d’Esquadra in Catalonia, and to different municipalities in Salamanca localities. In this way, they will reach different groups in many corners, which are now of maximum priority.
